Founded in 1934 under the name BUSAN TEXTILE Co., Ltd., CUCHEN traces its roots to the BUBANG Group. Since 1976, CUCHEN has been at the forefront of shaping Korea's kitchen appliance culture.

  • 1934

    Founded BUSAN TEXTILE Co., Ltd. (hemp manufacturing woven fabric factory)

  • 1976

    Founded Samshin Industrial Co., Ltd.

  • 1978

    Acquired a manufacturing permit for electrical appliances

  • 1979

    Changed the business name to KOOKJE ELECTROTHERMICS Co., Ltd. and completed the corporate registration

  • 1986

    Established the crystal business division (crystal unit, clock oscillator)

    Founded KOOKJE COLOMBO (PVT) Ltd., a local

    corporation in Sri Lanka

    Increased the capital to 6.7 billion KRW.

  • 1992

    Established a corporation for the crystal business division in Sri Lanka Constructed a factory in Cheonan for the living business division

    (moved from Bupyeong to Cheonan)

  • 1993

    Listed on KOSDAQ

  • 1994

    Established the environmental business division and obtained GOST certification for irons.

  • 1995

    Commenced the IT business

    (I.C CARD READER, PCB ASSY)

    Expanded the electric rice cooker business

  • 1996

    Concluded franchise contract with E-MART [Shinsegae Department Store]

    Certified for ISO-9001 quality management system

  • 1997

    Commenced operations at E-MART in Anyang

    Established a corporation in Qingdao, China

    Changed the company name to BUBANG TECHRON Co., Ltd.

  • 2006

    Launched LiHOM, a premium living appliance brand

  • 2009

    Acquired the CUCHEN business division from Woongjin Group

    Changed the company name to LiHOM CO., LTD.

  • 2011

    Reopened E-MART in Anyang after renovations

  • 2013

    Changed the company name to LiHOM CUCHEN CO., LTD.

  • 2014

    Appointed Lee Dae-hui as a CEO of LiHOM CUCHEN CO., LTD.

  • 2015

    Converted to a holding company and founded CUCHEN CO., LTD.

  • 2020

    Appointed Park Jae-soon as CEO of LiHOM CUCHEN CO., LTD.

  • 2021

    Won the Good Design (GD) Award

    Launched the first 2.1 ultra-pressure and 121 rice cooker in Korea

  • 2022

    Launched the first triple variable pressure rice cooker in Korea

    Launched the 3-serving 2.1 ultra-pressure, 121 ME IoT rice cooker

    Won the Good Design (GD) Award

    Won the PINUP Design Award

    Newly constructed and relocated Cheonan factory

  • 2023

    Won the iF Design Award

    Established the U.S. corporation
